Mike Murley Trio | 3:00pm
An engaging, lyrical saxophonist, Mike Murley is one of Canada’s finest jazz artists and one of the most versatile players on the scene today. A native of Nova Scotia, he has appeared on fourteen Juno Award winning recordings over a career spanning the past three decades.

Active as a leader in various formations from duo to septet, Murley also maintains a busy schedule as a sideman and jazz educator. In August 2011 Murley accepted a full-time position at the University of Toronto. He has also taught at the York University, Humber College, and has been a visiting member of faculty at the Banff Centre for the Arts.

Murley has appeared on a diverse collection of award-winning recordings by Metalwood, David Braid, and Rob McConnell, among others. He has also recorded and performed with numerous international artists including Dave Liebman, John Schofield, John Abercrombie, Renee Rosnes, and Kenny Wheeler.
